Click here How does that work? Does anyone have one of these, im thinking about buying one |
The AC power cycles at 60Hz. The copper (or aluminum) can carry other signals in different frequency ranges. Lots of stereo systems have powered speakers than you can place anywhere on the circuit. Just plug them in and they work. There are also intecom systems that transmit audio on the power lines. They're trying to bring high speed internet service to people's homes on the power lines too. "Broadband over Power" or something like that. The hold up is that the power lines will act as antennas and broadcast the signals ... which will interfere with ham receivers in proximity to power lines. The bulb camera is a neat application though. I'd like to see and handle one. |
