I have a Dell Dimension 2350 with a P4 Processor at 2ghz. I want to upgrade the RAM and per the receipt I have it is 256mb DDR SDRAM @ 266mhz.

I would like to know if 1 gig sticks are available in this config. I looked but could not find any...it seems to top at 512?

You can put higher PC-number ram in there

It may only run at 266, but it will work...

You just can't use SDR (PC133) or DDR2....

Further, you do not need to buy from Dell - you can get your RAM online, thru www.pricewatch.com

The 1 gig sticks should be available, but you might have to buy them at a higher speed like 333 mhz. No problem running underclocked, but a big problem if you get something that won't work or is designed for another machine. What OS are you using?

it will only handle 512mb chips crucial

you have two memory slots.   so you can buy a 512 and bump it up to 768
