This just goes to prove you should listen to everyone for words of wisdom.

"A fear of weapons is a sign of retarded sexual and emotional maturity."

As much truth as there may or may not be to that quote, few educated people today (especially in the field of psychology) would really consider Freud a very credible scoure for anything.

The man was a bit of a nutcase, didn't really have ANY theoretical foundation for any of his "work" - and seemed to think EVERYTHING was about sex.  So of course firearms are about sex.  So is mowing the lawn, and washing your car, and picking your nose.  So while I agree with the sentiment that "even a broken clock is right twice a day" I don't think I would ascribe "wisdom" to Freud, per se.

Not meant to be an attack on your post - just me being compulsively anal (which I'm sure Freud would have a field day with )

I'm not sure if Freud's ideas are the best to be quoting as fact.

One must see the irony in using one of the Liberal's Icons aginst them on this subject. That is my point in addition to the fact that he is correct.

Yes, but sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
