Here's a perfect example of the difference between the Democrats and Republicans... 2 Bills have been introduced concerning our 2nd Amendment Rights... H.R. 73: Citizens' Self-Defense Act of 2007 - sponsored by Rep. Roscoe Bartlett [R-MD] H.R. 1022: To reauthorize the assault weapons ban - sponsored by Rep. Carolyn McCarthy [D-NY] It's pretty sad knowing Democrats are more of a threat to my freedoms than Al-Qeada and Osama Bin Laden. |

That's a pretty broad brush you're painting with there .We'll see how many get on board with these bills. The Republicans had control of all three houses and what was accomplished?? Time will tell. eta-And for the record,I don't do drugs, smoke,or drink-never have, never will. |

Neither of those individuals are truly representative of their respective parties. Most Democrats wouldn't bother initiating any kind of gun ban, though most (not all) of them would go along with it. McCarthy is an extremist zealot who thinks she's on a mission from God. |
Don't take it personal, I just like to rile a few up here. It's all in good fun. |
I still love ya,man. |

ya mean there's a difference????......a politician is a politician no matter what party....Lie, steal and cheat is the name of the game. What we need in office is a blue collar worker who knows how hard it is to survive in this day and time....but that'll never happen because you have to be a millionaire to even think about running for office. As long as he is not union. |

Yeah, some complained that our Maryland GOP governor was a RINO but he stopped an assault weapons ban for four years, and stopped them from issuing driver's licenses to illegals. Now that the Dems control everything they are going all out--assault weapons ban, licenses and full citizen rights to illegals, higher taxes despite a $2 billion surplus created by the GOP governor, forced unionization of all state employees, bans on "MCMansion" housing, state-wide smoking bans, bans on bear hunting, cancellation of most of the planned highway improvements, etc. Of course the Dems didn't campaign on any of the above. we're still here. As for the republican bill at the top: Even a blind hog gets an acorn every once in a while. But for clarity's sake, there is a difference between Dems and Repubes-- the Dems are much more focused and in some cases more militant in their grab for power. The Repubes usurp the states' power because it's just what big federal governments do. They don't mean any harm by it- yet. |
CA RINO Governor Wilson vetoed AWBs and fought illegal immigration. Then we got a Dem Gov, and along with him, AWBs and a push to support illegals. We need to understand politics and what can actually be achieved. If we are not willing to settle for a realistic result, we will loose. They have been chipping away at gun rights for awhile now, going the other direction will take time . . . As far as libertarians go, they are probably busy bashing each other for not being "true" libertarians; they spend most of their time trying to be the big crab in their particular tidepool . . . |
![]() the demorats would have us be more "european" ...isn't that what we fought over in the 1770's? (read disarmed and under control) fred |
