Well, theres not too many places left to window shop with enlightened gun enthusiasts behind the counter anymore.  Shooter's Supply shut their doors for good this week and sold their stock to GM.  I hate to see it happen but the owner was ready to retire and nobody was able to buy him out.

Where in Texas did this happen.  In my brother's town in East Texas, three pawn shops have closed in the past 18 months.

Wait, Shooters Supply in Beaumont, Texas closed? WTF?!

I didn't even know they were supposed to. Well fuck that only leaves a few local shops none of which are worth a damn.

Either they only carry crap, high prices, or very bad, condescening attitude.  Jim's firearms is the only one worth a damn but not a lot of visible inventory.  However, Jims' prices are undoubtedly the best.

No, JJ's is a pawn shop.

Jim's Firearms and Shooter's Supply in Nederland.  He is a private dealer and a Kimber Master Dealer.  Best handgun prices I have ever found.  He does not have a big ridle and shotgun stock for display or and display cases for that matter but if he doesn't have it in stock, he can have it in a day or two and cheaper than others.  His Kimber prices are $100 - $250 cheaper than Gander and about $50 - $100 cheaper than what shooter's used to have.  If you decide to check him out, tell him Wes sent you.

Went by there Tuesday. The consignment rack was pretty cool, along with bein' able to handle a FAL or AK or AR. Advice on ammo was the best I've ever seen, no sales pressure either.

By the way, drop by the Texas hometown forum sometime.
