Just wondering. I've been dipping for around two years and trying to kick it. It's a bitch but I'll keep trying.

Just wondering how much you dip per day and for how long you've been at it.

Also brand...

Me: Grizzly Wintergreen...almost a can...2 years.

I have dipping cope for almost 5 years, It was my attemp at quiting smoking which worked. Now I chew about 3/4 can a day. I have been trying to cut down. Sometimes I can make a can last 2 days.

At $60 a log I think I will be quitting real soon.

yeah i used to say "never had never will", but i joined the military and started lite then after a year or so i would go through a can a day. i swiched units and tryed quiting then i got to iraq for the first time and i started up again i figured i would rather get blown up relaxed then blown up stressed out. i started loving the taste of cope after coffee so every moring i would dip, and almost the entire time on patrol i would dip except when i sat in the "muctar" or majors house and had chi/tea. when i got back from iraq i went to a shooting school and we couldnt dip during the day but all after noon i had one in. about 3 months after i got back from iraq the first time i turned around and when again. and still was dipping, it was hard to very hard to break.  i remember one day a 105mm had blown up right infont of me and my buddy, i grabbed my radio and went to report it and i was spitting dip all over the radio, my buddy was gagging he thought it was gross. i stopped dipping during that deloyment and i buy can every now and then now but in the desert i like dipping after the shit hit the fan, it takes the edge off. its very hard to break, the best way to try quiting it hard to do but from what i heard it works...take one big swallow of the spit in a bottle. i know it sounds gross and you will throw up but you will never want to put the dip in your mouth again.  and if people say "do you know how much you can save on money if you quit?" respond with "you know how much i can save on light bulbs if i walk around blind folded, but i aint going to do that!"

I've been dipping Skoal Mint and Kodiak off and on since high school. I was always more of a smoker, but since I have repritory problems I decided to start dipping so that I could ween myself off of cigarettes. I haven't had a smoke in over a month, but I dip almost a can a day.

I really do need to quit it. This is an expensive, disgusting, smelly habit.

A can of grizzly lasts me about 3 days or so.

I still prefer a smoke with my morning coffee tho, so I bum one from the wife.

I smoke one cigarette a day to break up the drive to work. At 10:00am I take a medium pinch of Skoal till lunch and thats it for the day. A can lasts me about 10 days. I don't smoke my cig on the weekends but I need my one dip a day or I become a tad bit of an asshole. I will dip all day when welding or hunting though.

Since I joined the Corps.

1-1.5 cans a week. Skoal wintergreen or cherry. Pay about $4-5 a can.

1-3 medium lips a day.

Gave it up for lent last year. Thinking about doing it again this year as a prelude to quitting for good.

I chewed for about 6 years, off and on.  I was never adicted and stopped due to lack of interest many times.  One day I just stopped doing it and really haven't had any desire.  I used to buy Copenhagen by the entire roll.........

I bought a bag of RedMan when I was tired and had to make a long drive under bad circumstances, but that was it.  I haven't touched it for about 7 years now.

Dipped for probably 15 years.  Most recently Timberwolf Wintergreen LC.  I quit 1-20-07 cold turkey.  ALMOST A MONTH!!!!  Hasn't really bothered me, nor made me an asshole (any more than I already am), but I have been eating a TON of fireballs

Hardcore Skoal user here. I had been dipping since I was 12. That was 20 years ago. During High School and college years I was using a can and a half a day, I slacked down to a can every two days. I finally quit 1 month ago exactly and haven't had the urge to do it again. It's like I was finally just sick of it and it had run its course. I hope I am done with it forever.

20+ years in the military, quit smoking and started chewing.  Usually 2/3 can of Skoal per day, or more when I'm in the desert.

I agree with the too much for too long.  Used to be mostly Skoal until it got too expensive, now either Longhorn or Grizzly or whatever is cheap, but always in the fine cut wintergreen.  Close to a can/day

Started dipping seriously when I was 17 or 18, I just turned 32.

I know I really should quit and I know all the reasons why.  The bad thing is, for some reason I don't really want to quit and don't know why. Even though I'm smart enough to realize the dangers, I guess I'm too stupid to kick the addiction because of them.

It is amazing to hear these prices. Skoal down the street is 2 cans for $4.99. If I couldn't get it at that store, others had it for 2/$5.99. Timberwolf is always under $2.00, Red Seal is always $1.50 or less. Pretty cheap here compared to when I would go out of town on business and run out. $5 a can is crazy stuff.

2 tins a week, mostly cope.  Some skoal straight and/or mint in there.  Been dipping for about 5 years.  I should quit, but I don't care enough to bother.

Copenhagen snuff
Between 1 and 2 cans a day for 14 years, but recently cut down to 5 cans a week. I was thinking about the shit I could have bought with that money in the last few years, and decided it was time to slow down.

I see I'm not alone. Right now I've got a pinch of Smokey Mountain ***NON-TOBACCO*** stuff in.

It's not to bad...juices nice and has a slight burn...I may do this and the patch.

Damn, I hate being a slave to nicotine

Cope for 20 years, QUIT last June & love it.
I'm pretty boring now, I quit drinking in 2000. Total savings from both the Bud & the Cope- about $450 per month.
