I just got one of those recorded messages and I decided to ride it out and get into somebodys ass instead of just hanging up.

At the end, the recording said to press 1 for a representative or 9 to be removed from the call list.

About an hour later, I got another one from another company and immediately hit 9.

A recording came on and said "You have been removed from the call list"

Maybe this works for a lot of  the automated calls!

And before some chucklehead chimes in and tells me to get on the national do not call list, I'm already on it on it.

It gets less and less effective everyday.

I like getting to a rep and sharing profanity and insults with them.

The ones from India piss e off I tell then "you suck a dick" 3 or 4 times and they still dont get it.

National do not call list has worked for me.

I signed up 2-3 years ago.

I get maybe 3-4 telemarketer calls PER YEAR.

I'm suspicious. Know what I'd think, if I were an evil telemarketer?

"I have a list of people who will listen to an entire pitch, before making a selection. Let's start the bidding at say...$900."

Reading is fundamental

The movie "Boiler Room" featured great telemarketer entertainment.

Oops. My bad.

I bet is was the same telemarketer, hired by a different company for a different product. What are the odds that the industry somehow standardized on interruptible prompts, and number 9?

Well, he still hit 9.  Now you're gonna get a bunch of calls because you're on that list.

This is a considerable amount of effort, but pretty funny anyway-
