I use DPMS lowers in two rifles, but that's probably not a good test of a rifle. DPMS rifles do not have chrome-lined bores and they use tight 223 chambers. They have a great selection of heavy barreled and bull barreled rifles, which are great for target and varmiting.

For a field/tactical rifle, I would probably go Bushmaster because of the chrome-lined barrel and slightly looser chamber. And Bushmaster quality is excellent.

DPMS is a very good product. Their customer service is also excellent. Never had a problem with mine. Regarding the "tight .223 chamber" I have used many different brands of commercial and milsurp ammo without a rifle related problem. The few ftf's were caused by dead primers in milsurp ammo.

That's great. When I was following that issue in late 1999 and 2000, it was a recurring problem.
