Any real Cajuns on the board?

FWIW I am not picking, but just recieved my care package form a buddy that I was stationed with and he included a Basin Brothers CD, Stayin Cajun.

Now with my spices and sausage, some Gumbo fer Sunday!

Most of them I have met are crazy mofos! Including my uncle, who was a transplant.

They are fun.  Good people to do fun stuff with by and large.  Not the neatest or most organized, but fun nonetheless.

I think they are quite welcoming, and kind.
Eccentric indeed, but wonderful folks.

Transplant  I will now commit seppuku for having this name...

Southern LA (Orleans and Plaquemines Parish) have been my home from about 5 months old.  I've been a few places but "Dee Baayoo" is the only spot I'd ever call home

I grew about 10 mi. from La. , by Pt., Arthur Tx.A good 80% of the people i knew and went to school with were cajuns. They all came over for the refinery jobs in the 40's and 50's.In my opinion they are some of the best people you will ever meet, just don't piss them off.  I have dated some hot little cajun women too.And yes, they can all cook good. I still eat cajun food regularly............good stuff.

True Story: I was in Houma one time fishing with a Cajun friend of mine. After fishing we were hanging out with a buch of older Cajun men. The tallest one was maybe 5'9 but they all were pretty tough looking. We were all standing around joking and one of them picks me out and says...

Old Cajun Dude: You know you ain't the only one F@@@@@@ your wife, don't you?
Me: (COMPLETE SILENCE! I thought, ok, I'm about to get into it with a half dozen Cajuns and I think I know how it's going to come out! Me = CRAB BAIT!)
Old Cajun Dude: I'M F@@@@@@ MY WIFE TOO!

They all fell apart laughing knowing he HAD me!

Many Cajuns would consider me a yankee because I'm from north of I-10, but I've got a french last name and know how to make a good gravy so I think I'm in.
