I just wanted to get some opinions on how I should insure my guns. I currently have renters insurance policy that will cover my guns only if they are stolen and I have a $250 deductible. Today I called my insurance company and they said they now have a better coverage plan that will insure the guns whether they are stolen, damaged, burnt, lost etc, also covers all my scopes and range finders, cases and such. The new coverage does not have a deductible. The kicker is they want a detailed inventory of my firearms with make, model, caliber, and serial number. I undertsand why they would want this info but I just feel uneasy about divulging that info. Am I paranoid to think like that??

NRA Arms care plus.  I think I have around $10K worth of ins. through the NRA, costs about 120ish a year, no deductible I believe.  Just another good reason to join up if you aren't already a member.

I thank you for the NRA Armscare Plus advice, I think NRA is the way to go it came out about $5 cheaper than my USAA insurance quote and I only have one scheduled firearm and no serial numbers.

Thanks!!

Does your current policy not cover scopes and rangefinders?
