I am working on a shotty that needs the tube replaced. It is loaded with LocTite and it is NOT budging.

Any suggestions?

With fire?

Seriously, heat it up a bit.

Carefully warm it up with a heat gun or a small torch.

try to get the heat as even as possible.

You may not need "torch heat", but maybe in a warm oven.  try to move it after it has been in a 250-degree oven, and I bet it comes out.

Appliance repairman working on a shotgun?  Somebody will be along soon with a steward and a grievance.

It's all been said.

What model shotgun is it?

Red may need quite a bit of heat to break it loose. Don't use anything stronger than a small propane torch to heat it up.

If it's a Mossberg(aluminum receiver) be really careful with the heat.

Anything over 400*f should turn it back into liquid. That's not too hot if you think about it. (no where near "red hot")

If you don't want to heat the item (and if you get too excited with a torch you might affect its mechanical properties), I believe a LONG soak in pure acetone, plus lots of scrubbing and more soaking and repetition will eventually get it off.

Don't waste time with nail polish remover, get the real stuff.

UPDATE!!! YOU GUYS ROCK

Except for you 1shott... masterass!! I thought you were supposed to freeze over there!!!

Anywho... the heat worked and worked GREAT! Warmed it up and just simply unscrewed it and MAN that made the job easy.

OH and 1Shott... you will find the heat guns on aisle 14 in HOME DEPOT!!

Seriously though... LocTite MUST be secretions from spiders... No human can make something that evil.

Aisle 12 in my store.

No wait that is Permatex, if you want LT, then you go to aisle 31 or 32 IIRC.
