I just traded some renovations on a friend's house for a very nice Mini-14. It is a 184 series, and seems more accurate than I am at this point. I've not had it out to a range yet to see how it groups, but I can keep a soda can moving at 50 yards or so, so I am quite happy with it. It is currently bone-stock, and in great shape. There are only a few light wear marks on the stock, where it looks like it was put into a gun rack in a vehicle and bounced around a little. Very small indentations in an otherwise beautiful stock. I intend to try to make them less noticable by heating the stock, but that is another thread. I'm looking for a good, sturdy folder for use as a home defense weapon. To this point, I've been using my Keltec .32, as it was the most powerful weapon I owned. I would prefer a side-folder, but I don't see why another type would be out of the question. All of the ones I've found online with some searching appear to be of poor quality. Can someone recommend a good manufacturer or website? |

That pic looks EXACTLY like mine, down to the front and rear sights. I am not going to do anything to the gun which would be a permanent change. I can always put the original stock back on the gun when I've moved on to a different HD gun. A-Team or not, my goal is to make it shorter so I can move around my house more easily. As a side effect, I'd like for libs to wet themselves at the sight of it. |

Would like to chop the barrel, but this gun is to remain as it came from the factory. No permanent modifications. I've got my sights on an AR for that, and this gun will be put back into its original stock and once again be a deer slayer. I've never had a deer run when shot from a .223 --- shot placement > penetration, and light recoil means a very quick follow-up if needed. |

Blued. I took it off and put a full stock on it for deer hunting, and it has been sitting in the closet ever since. I may put it up on ebay if that is legal. O.K., I just looked on ebay and there is one identical to it for sale. The bidding is up to $512.00 So I guess that is legal. Why so much for a folding stock like that? Because it is factory original? Not made any more? ouch! |

Here is the other stock auction. I might be sitting on a small gold mine. |
You can find the blued factory folders for $250 - $300 or so with the stainless usually going for a little more. It's as high as it is because it's eBay. Most of the people bidding on it probably don't go to many gun boards or haven't seen what the going rate for them are. Also, notice that he says that one is brand new never mounted on a gun. That's great if you're going to put it in a closet and never use it so you can try to sell it for more later but if you're going to use it on an old well used guy you might as well buy an old well used stock to go on it. |
I have the BC on my Mini-14. It works pretty well, locks up solidly, provides a good rest. It doesnt impact the magazine or anything else critical when folded, either. |

I know I'll catch flak for this, but I'm SERIOUSLY considering a Muzzelite bullpup. Yes, its poser-ish, and yes, it looks a bit ghey, but by reducing the gun to a OAL of 26.5", it makes for a much more effective weapon. If I ever use this gun for hunting, it will in in dense woods or brush - and a bullpup on a 3-point sling would make for effective handling and fast "draw". All I need now is to get my hands on one to see the quality. Muzzelite is the only one I can find, and it looks fien in pictures, but in person is always a different story. |
God-awful trigger. |
Don't do it.
