I need to find out if there are different kinds of graphite , here is what I'm trying to do !

I am helping my son (10 yo) build a pinewood derby car and we can only use dry graphite for lube , is there such a thing as a more fine graphite to make the wheels role more smooth and if so what is it called ?  Last year some of the other dad's had graphite that was not as fine as what I had but it worked great . I was just wondering what would be best to use in this situation.

Thanks

I'm no expert on this, but I do know that the graphite you get for locks is really fine.  You might try that.

I'd suggest superconductor freeair bearings.

I don't think they would like that but it would be real cool.......

Try burnishing/polishing the axles and wheel holes to get rid of any manufacturing burrs or highspots. That would probably make more of a difference than the granularity of the graphite.

Graphite is good, Molybdenum disulfide is even better...
