I put a bottle of Gatorade in the freezer to cool it down quickly.  When I opened the freezer to pull it out a few hours later it was all liquid.  I shook it up a little as I walked to my desk.  No more than 15 seconds later I looked down at the bottle and the entire contents is now slush.  Anyone seen this happen?  Did shaking the bottle mix the ingredients and make it do this?

I've had that happen with bottles of water before.

I've always just assumed that my touch has the ability to freeze unfrozen liquids that I pull out of the freezer. Kinda like that one guy on X-Men.

Did you open the cap before it turned to slush? I think it has something to do with it not freezing (or taking longer to freeze) if it's under pressure. But when you open the cap, the pressure is let out, and if it's cold enough it'll freeze up.

I have this happen fairly often on bottles of water.

Did you open the lid?

Contents at pressure freezes colder than not.

If it was closed, then you opened it, I could see it happening.

Happens all the time. The most popular way to drink Corona in fact. (Back when I enjoyed piss water.)
