| I see guys who have served in Iraq referring to "OIF I" and "OIF II", and I just saw someone referring to "OIF 05-07". What do the I and II refer to? Different tours when they were there? 05-07? Lil' help, please. |

That's how I understand it. I was there for OIF III, Feb-Sep 2005, and people were starting to call it OIF 4-6 and different combinations of numbers. Even we on the ground were confused by the numbering. With regard to OEF, Operation Enduring Freedom is the overall Global War on Terror with which the President received the funding for OIF. I'm a Reservist, and my activation orders for Iraq say "Operation Enduring Freedom", because like the funding, OEF authorized the call up of the Reserves. |
