Hey what's that place with the goofy photos from the 70s that is always in the gun mags? Those guys showed up here once and said they were "sending operatives" after us. They still have not found us apparently.

Have you googled "executive protection"?

Was that ESI? www.esi-lifeforce.com  I have taken quite a few of their courses I haven't attended the resident training though.  I am currently looking into these guys, International Training Group looks very promising thus far and I have read very positive reviews of the training.

If you want good EP info go to www.tacticalforums.com they have a section dedicated to Executive Protection.

Always  do your homework with EP schools, everyone and their brother is giving EP training these days, especially after 09-11-2001.

Yeah ESI, those were the guys. Did you just take correspondence courses? No offense but the guy who posted here came across as a complete boob.

Yes, just the distance education, by the time I got to the part of taking the resident training, I decided there were better ways to invest my training dollars.  You don't happen to have alink to the ESI thread in question do you?

Check out Olive Training Group.  They took over the old TEES school, put in a track, and are now doing EP certification courses that qualify you to work in the UK, upon receiving the license.  VERY good people.

I also took my driving training at BSR-Inc. in Summit Point, WV, right outside Charles Town, and close to Winchester, VA.  That was 10 years ago, but I was one of the few guys in my class that wasn't a Fed.  One of my driving partners was the driver for the Director of the NSA at the time, and the other one was a supervisory agent with the ATF.  BTW:  The ATF guy was a pretty decent fellow, but didn't know jack shit about firearms.  My compound has not since been burnt to the ground, and my goldfish were not shot.

Maybe too far away for your liking, but I highly recommend Strategic Weapons Academy of Texas Executive Protection & Security Specialist Course.

By limiting yourself geographically to something near Utah, you're eliminating many of the schools that provide the most resume bang for the buck --places that people in the industry recognize and respect. That will create obstacles that you'll have to work and network harder to overcome.

ESI near Aspen, Colorado isn't too far from Utah and is well known, but is very expensive when you combine the distance and residential courses.

As kpel308 mentioned, TEES in Memphis, TN has been bought out by Olive Group, but they still offer the same Witness/Dignitary Protection course. It's a great course, and the affiliation with Olive just makes the name more recognizable in the industry now. tees-training.com/pages_folder/corporate.html The cadre at TEES was and Olive is associated with former SAS guys.

If you want to impress a domestic corporate security director, the big names in the US market are Kobetz www.personalprotection.com/ and Oatman www.rloatman.com/. They're both on the east coast as well.

Don't forget, to work in Utah you'll need a PI license through a licensed, bonded PI company. Utah DPS runs the licensing. www.bci.utah.gov/BailPI/PIHome.html

Good luck.

Are you serious?

Do you remember anything about that thread? I'd love to read it.

Nah that was quite a few years ago. Really nothing terribly relevant to the training, just some guy who appeared to be from esi showed and was kind of silly in his posts.

I think there was a thread making fun of ESI and the guy who claimed to be from ESI said that his "operatives" made him aware of the thread and made some kind of veiled threats, I forget whether he was going to sue or what. This was years ago. Sorry.

Jarhead_22 is the one to listen to about this stuff obviously.
