I wont be interested until GTA:4 comes out, and its a LOT cheaper, oh and when they fix the glitches that cause audio problem or no playability with PS2 games. 200 is my MAX that I am willing to pay for video game consoles, so Ill be waiting for a while, especially since wally world is discontinuing lay-a-way |
XBOX 360 is gonna have GTA4 too. Its not a PS3 exclusive. So you should buy a 360 when the price drops. |

No it isn't. But the ability to play Blue-Ray movies and HD games in 1080p is. |
What games were being played? There are some games for the 360 that weren't originally developed for it, and just ported over without improved graphics. |
Exactly what games were you looking at, because none of the current PS3 titles look particular good? In fact all are inferior looking to the best X360 games out... Not to mention something like COD3 that is directly comparable since it is made for both consoles, looks and runs better on the X360. Perhaps the PS3 was setup with an HD screen and the X360 wasn't or something, that would explain it. The best looking stuff out today is out on the X360, not the PS3. How that plays out in the future (since these are just PS3 launch titles) remains to be seen. |
The better question is does the hyped promise of better graphics really end up being worth an extra $300?? Because all the current PS3 games don't live up to better graphics... Everybody's opinion on this thing is skewed by the hype over the Cell CPU, that even if it performs anywhere near the hype is significantly harder to developer for effectively. Meanwhile, the potentially more important GPU is more powerful on the X360 and it even has some advantages in general processing on the CPU side... No, compared to PS2/PS3 controllers. For my hands, the PS2 controller is just about perfect. I never have liked the N64/Xbox controllers. Personal opinion only. |

The 360 recently had an update released which unlocked the ability to output to 1080p, in addition if you buy the $400 premium console which has the hard drive it comes with the A/V cables needed for HD output and 5.1 surround sound. |
It does 1080p (at least the xbox can output in 1080p, and I believe the HD-DVD drive can too, it's one of the major benefits of the 360 HD-DVD addon over several of the current stand alone players) and even w/ the addon drive it is still price competitive w/ the PS3. You can also download HD TV episodes and movies on the new service over Live. Honestly I could care less though, I don't want to watch movies on it. I will wait for whichever format wins and buy an affordable stand alone player when they're plentiful. Also, w/ the 360 they could add a Blueray player just as easily as the HD-DVD drive if Blueray really takes off... Besides, if you want to talk hi-def issues the PS3 gets the black eye there, it has some bugs with up/down-converting on HDTV sets that don't do 720p, you can get stuck at 480p resolution in several of the launch titles. BTW, my computer would definitely throw up if it tried to run Gears of War at 1920x1080 too, and mines a decent though affordable gaming rig... |

I played a MotorStorm demo in Walmart today on a PS3 they had setup, and I will tell you this - When I get a next-gen console, it will be the PS3. They also had Resistance: Fall of Man on display, and that game seriously kicks ass. OTOH, I've played Gears of War on 360, and while it's a great game, I know that it's one of few. The problem that plagued the original xbox will plague the 360 - not enough exclusive titles. You got Halo, Gears of War, Forza/Project Gotham, etc. and that's about it. With Sony, you get Metal Gear Solid, Ace Combat, SOCOM, Tekken, Virtua Fighter, Killzone, Resistance, God of War, Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy, Devil May Cry, Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Dexter, Sly Cooper, etc. I may end up buying both the 360 and the PS3 when they get cheaper, but I know that I'll get the PS3 first and foremost... |

Actually they both have their fair amount of exclusives, and MS has cut into quite a few of the games previously thought to be PS3 exclusives like Assassins Creed, GTA IV, rumored Resident Evil 5, etc. The X360 has stuff like Gears of War and any sequels, Halo 3, Halo Wars, Bioshock, Splinter Cell 5 (back to exclusive), Forza 2, PGR 4, Mass Effect, Crackdown, Lost Planet, Alan Wake, Fable 2, Shadowrun, next DOA game, probably next Ghost Recon game, etc among many others. They've both got their fair share of A-list exclusives... I suppose console choice will come down to personal preference of the exclusives. So far the only thing I'll miss that I know of on the PS3 is SOCOM and maybe Killzone if doesn't turn out to blow compared to Halo, and maybe MGS4 although I would guess Splinter Cell 5 will stack up against it decently. I will be interested to see if the trend of cross-platform games being better on the X360 continues past the few that are currently out too. |
Don't forget that the next sequel to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic will likely be a 360 exclusive...if it's ever made.
