My 6 year old boy is cross-dominant. I am too and I think it would be better if he wasn't. I asked an optometrist about this and they said there are exercises my boy can do to change the dominance. Does anyone know what these exercises are? |
| I changed eye-dominance a long time ago. Used to be left-eye dominant, but I've always been right-handed. For a few years there, I would do some kind of shooting almost every single day, usually at least with a .22 pistol. Now I'm right-eye dominant. I didn't do anything so intentional, it just kind of changed because that's what I always used. Especially when you're shooting with both eyes open, you learn which image to use and which to ignore automatically. |
+1 It is a HUGE pain in the ass though. |
I have been doing this for a short time now just for this reason. I'm right handed, left eye dominant. Both eyes open does work and yes it starts off as a pita. I've only been doing it for 3-4 weeks and I can already see a difference. 95% has been doing it while walking around my house aiming at doorknobs or lightswitches or what have you. I would really have to concentrate at first but now I can throw my pistol up real fast and I'm automatically on the right dots, yes dot sights are a neccessaty for this. I really like both eye open shooting now. |
