65 should be a good one.  I'm hoping Hughes, Sylvia, and Mir all come out on top.  Glad to see some shooters getting in on this exposure.

I forget WHO, but they bought custom ARs from one of  fine vendors. I remember seeing pixs and story they posted on their website

It was Silvia.

These will be very tough fights for all fighters.  I expect this to be one of the most exciting in a long time.  I can't wait.

On another note, Wladimir ? Klitchko is fighting some big black dude with a 29-0 record the same night on HBO.  I will definately be flipping.  The Klitchko bros. are bad dudes.

I dont think Hughes or Silva will retain their belts. Hughes looked horrible vs BJ Penn and would have lost if Penn hadnt hurt him self.

They may support gun ownership, but good lord, I hope Sylvia and Hughes both get beat.  Then I hope Jeff Monson gets ruined by whoever fights for the belt next.  Or just hands it over to Mir, even though Mir hasn't looked so hot in his last couple fights.

Aleks Emelianenko is trying to sign with Dana White for UFC.  He will have all of UFC's heavyweights running scared.

My predictions:

GSP by decision.
Sylvia by knockout.

I, for one, want to see Monson submit Sylvia.

I was happy with the Gracie fight.  I bet on Hughes, while everybody else seemed to be saying "Gracie will submit him in no time flat."  I like Hughes as a fighter.  He wins for a reason.  He's a good, smart fighter.

On the other hand, he's cocky, and he acts like a dick sometimes.  GSP is a stand up guy that always shows respect to other fighters, his fans, and the sport in general.  Its rare to see a young guy that is already dominant not let it get to his head too much.  Plus, I just think he is the better fighter, though I think Hughes is as about a tough a guy you could put in front of him.

Hughes looked like garbage in the fight against BJ.  BJ was having his way with him until the 3rd round.  He looked way too tired for only being 2 rounds deep.  I also believe he is underestimating St. Pierre.  He pulled off an impressive victory over him the first time around, and I think he's probably expecting St. Pierre's ground game to be weak.

St. Pierre is faster, he's a better striker, and I think he's got the better cardio.  It's a tough match up, and I think if it's over in 1 or 2 rounds, it'll be Matt Hughes... but the longer the fight goes, the more I'm inclined to give it to St. Pierre.  I don't think Hughes will be able to take him down or keep him down long enough to do any damage in 1 or 2 rounds.  Hughes will get tired and St. Pierre will start picking him apart with punches and leg kicks, but not enough to knock him out, and I don't see a submission happening.

ETA:
Main Card Bouts

* Welterweight Championship bout: Matt Hughes vs. Georges St. Pierre  - St Pierre by decision.
* Heavyweight Championship bout: Tim Sylvia vs. Jeff Monson  - Sylvia by knockout (head kick?)
* Heavyweight bout: Brandon Vera vs. Frank Mir - Vera by knockout.  I like Mr, but I think the accident mess him up to much for him to be a big name, dangerous fighter like he used to be.
* Lightweight bout: Joe Stevenson vs. Dokonjonosuke Mishima - Joe Stevenson..
* Light Heavyweight bout: Alessio Sakara vs. Drew McFedries  - Alessio Sakara.

Preliminary Card Bouts

* Welterweight bout: Nick Díaz vs. Gleison Tibau - Damn, I hate Nick Diaz.  But I'll give it him this time.
* Light Heavyweight bout: James Irvin vs. Hector Ramirez - James Irvin does not seem like a very great fighter to me.  But I've never seen Hector Ramirez fight, so meh.  Can't even judge this one.
* Heavyweight bout: Sherman Pendergarst vs. Antoni Hardonk - Dunno these fools either.
* Heavyweight bout: Jake O’Brien vs. Josh Shockman - Josh Shockman

I am so disappointed with the UFC in every weight class except welterweight.. and maybe the 185 pounders.  They seriously need some new talent.  They keep bringing in new names with every event, they put on sub-par performances, and you hardly ever see them again.

Hughes finished BJ convincingly, hiding behind an injury is just sour grapes. They all fight injured all the time. That big a fight, if BJ felt the injury would be a hindrance than he shouldn't have taken the fight.

Monson promotes anarcho-communism.  I've debated him about it and he failed miserably, completely avoided direct answers to my questions.  I say he has a one in ten chances of taking big tim down, and from there a small chance of submitting Tim.

Yeah.  If a bloody nose and a swollen eye from a finger poke passes as hamburger meat these days.
Not taking away from BJ's skills.  The dude can fight like hell.  I really like him as a fighter.  But I've so many people say "Pierre was beat up after that fight! BJ should've won!"  It's lame.  He took good shots, yes, but looks don't mean everything in a fight, and he didn't even look that bad.

Shamrocks face after Shamrock/Ortiz 1 is hamburger.

UFC has become boxing. The refs stop the fights too early! Reminds me of the Mike Tyson PPV days . You pay $40-$60 bucks for a fight 30 seconds later it's over because of an overzealous ref.

While Dana laughs (all the way to the bank). It's bullshit!

matt is a bull, but only ground for him.   good standup guy would waste him, if he could stay standing.  maybe pierre?  pierre needs to set down on his punches, get a little more pop, and ko matt.

Not to defend BJ, but he got the injury during the fight.  It was in the 2nd round when he swept Matt IIRC.  On the other hand, I remember reading (didn't notice when I watched) that he grabbed Matt's shorts during the sweep, which is illegal.  I still feel Matt would have won in a later round regardless of the injury since BJ always gasses anyway.  I also don't feel like BJ murdered him for the first 2 rounds either.  He landed some jabs and stuffed some takedowns, and almost had a submission.  He definitely had the edge up until the injury, but not a huge edge IMO.

I don't think you can really pick a winner for GSP vs. Hughes.  I can see either one of them winning.

Why do you guys keep asking that??? I watched it live and then I downloaded it and watched it again. It was a great fight, both fighters had some great moments but it ended at 3:53 of the third round with Hughes dropping 15 unanswered shots to Penn's head.

In case YOU missed it, this is what it looked like:

Yeah OK, it was a convincing finish. Yes the fight stopped because he was beat. But a convincing finish DOES NOT mean that he deserved to win.

I am arguing that I was not convinced that Hughes actually BEAT him. If penn didnt get hurt, the fight would have been diffrent.

That's irrelevant, because he DID get injured, and Hughes DID beat him, and he DID deserve to win.  You can think all you want about the fighters, but the FACT is, Hughes beat Penn fair and square.  Injuries are part of fighting.  There's always a chance you can get a bum break in a fight, get an accidental cut, etc.  Had the ref stopped it early, I wouldn't be arguing with you, but he let Hughes punch Penn in the face about 15 times before it was stopped.  There was plenty of time for Penn to try to get free and defend himself, which he failed to do.  Whether it was because he was injured or not doesn't matter.

I won't argue that an uninjured Penn would have been a much better fight.  Generally, I think Penn is too much for Hughes.  He can outstrike him, defend takedowns like no other, and he's much better on the ground.  But I have my doubts that he can last for 5 rounds without gassing out.  If Penn could not finish Hughes in the first few rounds, I think from then on it would be Hughes fight.  But... it doesn't really matter right now, because Hughes beat Penn, and so did GSP, so they are the top 1 and 2 right now.

I think Sanchez will try to overwhelm Riggs.  I have visions of Diego rushing in and shooting for a takedown and getting caught with something, but I think he'll still pull it out.  From the first fight I saw from Sanchez, I believed he was the best on the TUF show, and so far I'm pretty sure he's done better than anyone else that was on it (maybe tied with Mike Swick).  I'd like to see Sanchez win.  He's fast and explosive, and his cardio is amazing. Ge's generally an exciting fighter to watch, and I think Riggs is too cocky and may underestimate him.

Sanchez said he wanted to be the best fighter in the world, which you hear a lot.  But I think Sanchez wants it more than just about anybody.  His head is in the right spot.

Never know though.
