I've been rewatching Day Four of 24 recently. I know that Jack is sometimes surprised and just finds himself in a gunfight but it seems that he rushes into a known confrontation many times with just a handgun. Doesn't he know that a sidearm is only used to fight your way to a longarm? |
I didn't care of them the few times I saw them on TV, but sitting down and watching a few in a row they made a better impression. I've watched the ones that are out on DVD and got a kick out of them His gun handling is bad, but for TV it is not terrible; besides it's a spy show on TV, not Blackhawk Down. The whole thing is a little too far fetched to get wigged out over him shooting cup an saucer or shooting two pistols at once. Sutherland's a drunk, but why should I care? It's not like he's an EMT or doing something else that's actually important in a day to day sense. Since I don't hang around in trendy LA bars I don't have to worry about him throwing up on my boots.... |
No, he doesn't. In one episode, season 5 I think, he HAS a rifle and drops it then goes chasing after an SUV w/ his pistol.

Yep. Besides, it beats the hell outta watching any of the "reality" TV shows (Yeah, my reality consists of running around an island wearing swatches of material over my boobs and eating bugs in the hopes I can "outwit" people to win money. )
