I think about them all the time.

I knew a few of them.

I also think that what they died for is a noble cause that may just save millions of lives in the next decade or two OR, begin the recognition that the sane world will have to face an ugly, tragic future if the people those young men and Women died fighting continue to be viewed as anything other than the 14th century mystics that they are by the populations that spawn them.

Well said.  I also knew a few of them, and one of them, 1LT Matt Saltz, (posthumously promoted to CPT), was one of my greatest friends.  We were in Army ROTC together and I consider him a brother.  RIP, Matty....

I wonder if this was the response the OP was expecting.

I attended far too many memorials in that place - but here's a hearty FUCK YOU to any Republican or Democrat who wants to use their deaths for political reasons.

I doubt a day goes by I don't think about Johnny Mata.  More to the point, I think about his wife, Nancy, and his two kids.

I've always been a supporter of giving them what they want: an early appointment with Mr. Akbar, Allah Akbar.

PGR’er here, I have gone on 14 missions so far and weather permitting, number 15 this Sunday. 5 of us are riding the Scoots up to Thomaston, ME. for a service for Staff  Sgt. William S. Jackson II.
