The Monsters of the Midway are back !!!! Beware of fair weather bandwaggoners coming out of the woodwork. |
I'll drink to that! And for the record, I have never been a Bears fan but have been pulling for them all season. You throw Rex Grossman and Alex Brown on a team and any Gator fan is going to pull for you |
I think the fact that I can probably still sing all the lyrics to the "Superbowl Shuffle" is all the proof I need that I am no bandwagon rider. That, and GO CUBBIES, FUCK THE WHITE SOX! Oh - now where was I? Oh yeah - tonights game rocked - It was the first Bears game I had been able to see this year - and it was in high def - the better to savor the ownage of Seattle with. |
I still have two copies of the shuffle on VINYL !! |
| Bears fan my whole life. I think this is the year, I have been holding on for 22 years. Man that 85 team brings back memories. In comparison this team is a bunch of no namers, which is even better and they have a lot of depth, which in critical. They should have no problem going 8-0, based on there schedule. |
yep, undefeated shouldn't be an issue. the rest of their schedule is fluff. btw, my dad's side of the family are yanks. I've been to tons of Cubs games, but the Bears game in '85 is one I remember vividly. Every time Sweet Pea scored he threw the football into the stands. I think the NFL began fining him $500 for every ball he tossed... |
Fixed for ya. |
You south siders not only make shitty pizza, but you smell funny too. I had to move halfway across the ocuntry to get away from your stench!
|
![]() After 22 years I would've thought you'd had enough punishment! Still not enough? Oh well there's always next year after this years dreams are crushed right? |
| How do you bear fans like Tommie Harris? He was a man among boys when he played down here at OU for Stoops. Every team doubled on him. He had a legendary play against our in-state rival when he took out the entire offensive line on a goal-line stand. I kid you not- started at one end and ran through like a bulldozer. |
I hope you don't mean by the cowgirls, TO will wish he was succsessful when he meets the Monsters of the midway. |
Thanks. I was hoping it wouldn't go unnoticed.
|
He's a Texas boy, FWIW. I couldn't imagine what the kids who played across the line from him in high school must have thought/felt. If I was an opposing coach, I'd have ordered my boys jock straps from Depends. ETA: Oh, and that wasn't his only "legendary play". Just ask Roy Williams.
|
Which Roy Williams? The receiver from Texas or the Safety from Oklahoma? You're right about Tommie Harris being recruited out of the state of Texas. For the life of me I don't remember what town. |
Receiver from Texas. Tommie walked him down. ETA: He's from Kileen; not sure what high school. Just looked him up on wikipedia. FWIW, they also mention him being quicker than Roy. |
