I need to know how to derive the velocity distribution:

V(r) = [w Ri (Ro - r )] / (Ro - Ri)

from the continuity equation

V . U = 0

Engineering homework, I assume.

Google "velocity distribution continuity equation".  First link goes a long way toward understanding how to do the problem.  Surely it's in your textbook, and probably in the same variables and constants as your problem.

Here is a helpful hint.

It would be the same as a shaft rotating in a bearing hole.
