I carry a Surefire E1E in my left front pants pocket every day, and it is very useful.  However, sometimes when I sit down the push-button end cap is activated by something in my pocket or even my thigh.  I won't notice the flashlight is on until it gets very warm and I feel it through the cloth.  I have gotten into the habit of reaching down and touching the lens with my thumb to see if it is warm, but even so it will still run for several minutes on occasion.  This is really killing my battery life, and these things aren't cheap.

Any suggestions?  Is there an endcap protector or anything like that?  I've tried carrying it in my back pocket, but I worry about it working its way out of the pocket when I am sitting, plus it's uncomfortable to sit on.

I thought they had a lockout tailcap. My E1L does. I turn it out about a half turn and the tailcap cannot activate the light.

I carry an E2E in my front pocket.  I switched over to the click-on tail cap and rarely have the light activate in my pocket.

The E1E has a lockout tailcap. When you put it into your pocket, just turn the end a half turn counter clockwise, and it won't be able to engage.

Mine has the lock out cap.  Just unscrew the cap more.

My mistake - this is an E2e.  Does that make a difference?  I can't check it right now because the batteries died today when this happened.

Should still have a lockout tailcap. Unscrew it a half turn and check (after you put in new batteries).
