I would not let my 16 freaking year old son drive my $200k Lambo. ![]()
While I'm sure he's more secure financially than most people, I doubt he can afford Lamborghinis like they're used Dodges.

<raises hand> if you have money, why not? can't take it with you when you die buddy... might as well enjoy the nicer things in life when you're still above ground and above room temperature |
I wouldn't be worried about the car. Teenage boys do stupid things. Have you ever read the "Fastest you've ever Driven" thread?

If somebody gave me a Lambo when I was 16, I'm pretty sure I'd be pushing up daisies right now. No red blooded male has the will power to drive that thing safely when they are 16. Hell, I'd probably get myself into trouble with it NOW! If he wants to spoil him he should just get him something nice that isn't fast. Get him a pimped out tahoe or something. Personaly, I'd make my kid get a job and pay for his own car, even if I had hogan's dough. Teaches them the value of hard work. If nothing else, at least make them pay half, then match it... something besides just a handout. I'm pretty sure Hogan could land his kid a pretty sweet gig for a 16yo kid if he wanted to. Bus boy at a ritzy resaurant or something. To each his own, but in my opinion he's breading a spoiled little prick. |
| Hulk Hogan has had his son on the road driving since he was like 14 years old. I mean being a good parent is one thing,( The Hulkster seems like a concerned loving parent when it comes to the younger son and an overprotective maniac when it comes to the older daughter) disregarding the law because you are a celebrity is another which if you ever watched the episodes where he took Nick driving around in Nicks car to car shows and races you would see........ |
It isn't so much the cost of the car, it is the INSURANCE that kills you. 16 year olds driving Lamborghinis for everyday transportation is statistical suicide. |
| To all of the 16 yr old bashers and the ones saying that this Mucialago's demise was the fault of the kid: THIS IS NOT THE 1st Lambo of this kind that has done this. There are plenty of stories on 6speedonline.com on this problem. It isnt the 1st or last and its not like the kid crashed the car- it has a cooling problem. |
Maybe all of you 16 year olds should learn how to use a FUCKING FIRE EXT. |
He left the car didnt he? What did you expect him to do? These fires in the Murcies are catastrophic cooling faliures. Im sure even with a Fire supression unit (portable not built in halon) it would be nearly impossible to put this fire out. I do not take offense to your cheap shot at young people. I am a responsible 20 year old college student who has never had an accident and who's 1st car was an M5 that was borrowed (yes, I did ask permission to drive it EVERY time I wanted to) from my father. Perhaps I am a rare exception to the rule. Please keep your generalizations to yourself. |

Looking at the car, I doubt there is anything the kid did to cause it to burst into flame. I can't think of a way for him to have started a fire indside the engine compartment of that Lambo from behind the wheel. Now I have seen LOTS of guys set their engine on fire messing with a carb, but those are usually more "hold my beer and watch this" moments where some hillbilly is trying to get the 700 CFM Holley carb he just bought installed and "adjusted" on his rusted out 78 Ford truck with a 5.0 in it. More than likely there was some sort of flaw in the car (cooling is a problem on those rear engine vehicles sometimes) or some sort of electrical short, and poof. Instant 200,000 dollar weenie roast. Odds are that by the time the kid knew the car was on fire, the fire was too far to stop with a simple fire extinguisher. Besides, if you've ever been in a Lambo you know that "roomy" doesn't describe them. Carrying a fire extinguisher in a Lambo is almost like a chick trying to conceal a 1911 in a thong bikini. As to letting a 16 year old drive a Lambo.....Ya...That isn't exactly the best idea I have ever heard. |

It wasn't Hogan's car. He calls into the Bubba the Love Sponge Show (Sirius Radio, Howard 101). Some rich guy in Miami has about 90 exotic cars scattered all over town and has Nick drive them for a couple days at a time to get 'em out now and then. For a 16 year old he's supposed to be one hell of a driver. Recently got a sponsorship from Dodge for a drifitng contract. He said he was driving down the road and the tach was at 0 and the speedo was stuck at 45. He pulled over and looked in the rear wheel well and there was an 8" flame. Ran up to a house, got an extuingisher and it didn't work, ran to another house but by the time he got back it was totally engulfed. |
I didn't say the fire was his fault, just that no 16 year old should be behind the wheel of an expensive car; it gives them a warped perspective on life. I don't understand parents who run out and buy junior a new car at 16. Make them work for it. Of course, being the kid of a celeb means you are probably warped anyways. |
