I was looking through some of my camping eq. this week and wanted to try out  all my stoves so I set up my msr whisper lite int. that i have had and used for 10 years.
While inspecting I found cracks in the plastic all around the controll knob.
I went to REI. to buy a new pump . I had the old pump and stove with me
I talked with a sales person and in a few minutes I walked out of there with a brand new stove! The entire kit of stove pump wind screen stuff sac.!!
I know that rei is 100% behind all their gear but I think that is awesome!
Thank you..................................................

They officially rock, and stand behind what they sell.

They gave me a full refund a few years ago on some Merrell boots that blew out on me after a month.

As long as you don't care about their politics (and I don't) keep shopping there.  The people that are boycotting leatherman would shit themselves if they knew how environazi left wing REI is.

+1

They even have a cooperative you can joice to reduce costs. As most people know, a cooperative is a disguised form of communism.

Yup, tis true.

Went into to one in last week to pick up a few things wearing my Team AR15.com ballcap (with NRA Life Member pin on it) .

No one batted an eye.  Guess being in a Montana store (even Bozeman ) must have made the difference.

Maybe I'll try it next time I'm back in San Diego and see if it causes anyone to stroke out.

Was just in there today....

lots of cute college girls.

Almost pulled the trigger on a Deuter Futura 45 pack, but I'm not sure that I care for the Granite/Holyfuckitsorange color scheme it had. Still thinking about it...

ETA: I was CCWing too...

I couldn't get to the store through the sea of Volvos and Beemers in the lot. It appeared as if the folks who shop there are very proper and pay attn. as to make sure they are color coordinated with their Gear. Pass the Grey Poupon please.

I love REI. It's nice to shop at a store and actually see thin, healthy people. Excellent gear to buy and rent, too.

Good place. Somewhere in the store there will be a REAL user of the equipment you are inquiring about.
I spend too much time there, instead of carrying my membership card I've memorized the number

Hell, I got one better than that...  Downtown Seattle store (new one, not the old one) I went to buy new Vasque Sundowners that I had beat to hell.  Wearing my old ones, the sales person asked me where I got my VERY worn Sundowners.  I told him from the old U district store.  When I went to pay, he took my old ones and put them in the new box and said "have a nice day"
