Aug 16, 2006 2:45 pm US/Central Chicago Police Seize 29 Guns In Cicero David Brown Faces Charges Get breaking news alerts (STNG) CICERO Chicago Police on Tuesday seized 29 firearms, including a fully automatic 9 mm Uzi, from a residence in Cicero, police said. David B. Brown, 44, of the 3300 block of South Austin in Cicero was charged with unlawful use of a weapon for possessing the Uzi, according to a release from Chicago Police. He was also charged with the illegal transfer of a firearm for illegally providing an acquaintance with a gun in 2004, the release said. Members of the Chicago Police Anti-Gun Enforcement (CAGE) Team became interested in Brown after a 9 mm semi-automatic pistol he purchased was recovered in July from an offender in the Morgan Park District, the release said. Brown told police he gave the gun away in 2004, knowing the acquaintance didn’t have a valid firearms identification card, the release said. Brown on Tuesday consented to a search of his residence, where police recovered 21 rifles and eight handguns, according to the release. |
