Anyone buy their school books from there?  Is it a crapshoot or are they in decent condition?  Looks like I can save about $100 if I buy them all from there.

Yes, just read the condition and check the ratings... They don't come directly from Amazon.
I save a shitload of money each term... I also usually break even or make a few buck when I sell them back to the school bookstore. At the worst I've been out about $30 total for the term.

I use half.com  It's an Ebay company but I've had very good experiences with them.
I haven't tried Amazon for used textbooks.

Yes, I have bought 90% of my books from private party, used, on Amazon. Be sure to check the edition....This is key. If your course list 3rd edition there may be several 1st and 2nd ones out there but not listed as such. Look closely and save a bunch...

Other problems include some asshat who thinks every other word needs highlighting...
That can really be a pain in the ass to read as it distracts quite a bit.

I don't see the point of highlighting if you are going to do the whole damn book.

read the condition, check ratings, but most important, make sure that it is the correct edition.

+1

Most books are updated yearly just to keep the new book monopoly. The differences can be astounding and really hurt you more because you "saved" $40.
