I was getting impatient with the gf because it is so god damn hot in this house, and the small AC unit was in the window of a room next to the bedroom.   After getting her to agree to move it in the bedroom, I became impatient waiting for her help and tried to move it myself.

To make a short story shorter, I dropped the fucking thing out the window.

It only fell about 4', and the corner is dented in a little bit, but for the most part it seems to be running okay now.   Even though I went outside and carried it in, she didn't seem to figure it out, and I'm not about to bring it up.

So am I breathing poisonous gas now that I dropped it or should the fact that it is working okay right now be good enough??

The gas is not poisonous. If there is a leak you will know because it will quit working at some point.

This is a warning I remmeber from years ago.

The compresser is made to have the freon or oil in it at all times. turning it on its side , the oil (freon) runs out . The compresser burns up . Your at the store ,to buy a new AC. The same goes for a refrigerator. IF you lay one down to move it , you should wate 24 Hr before you plug it back in.

Hope it fell right side up.

It landed on a corner and settled right side up.   I'm no accident reconstructionist, but I'm not sure if it stayed that way all the way down.

Heavy little bastards, aren't they.

When it happened to me, I managed to hold on, but it almost pulled me out the window with it.
