When you get a C you are like well hell at least I didnt fail the damn thing when you get a high B or A you are happy because you feel like you did good.

But when I get a B- I just feel like a dumbass, couldn't even pull off the full B and am right on the edge of getting a C.

Or should I be thankful I didn't get a D

maybe I am just weird.

It's not the end of the world Greg, be happy.  Be thankful that you didn't get a D and just apply yourself more next time and you'll be fine.

There's research that shows that Olympic athletes that get a bronze medal are generally happier than those that get silver (because the guys with bronze are usually happy to even be on the podium, but the guys with silver are often bummed they finished second and didn't get the gold).

Seems like a similar phenomenon you are describing.

Whether a B- is worthy also depends on the course - if it's Art History or some similar inane topic, then you are probably sleeping, ogling wimmenz, or just dumb.

I always get a chuckle when I hear some new college student attending a teachers college all wound up about a history or English or econ course and "oh my!", how the instructor is running them through the mill.  At an engineering school, those classes are looked on as easy A's and provide a welcome respite from the real course work.

I get really angry when I don't score an A in my classes. My microbiology class kicked my ass to kingdom come. I fought tooth and nail for an A, but those 50 question short essay cumulative tests wore me the fuck out. I went ballistic. I started studying 10 days prior to the test for 2-3 hours a day. I would barely study for anything else we had that week, including major nursing tests. I would set my sights on nothing but Microbiology... getting up at 5:00 AM to study for quizes at 7:00 AM plus what I had toiled over the night before.

it was a nightmare. I got a Fucking B.

On a side note, looks like I am going to be the teachers assistant for the spring semester.
