Who's read the book by James Clavell or seen the movie with George Segel?

Excellent story.

Both.

It is a great book, and surprisingly, they managed to make a pretty damn good movie out of it.

I read the book years ago. Was Segel the king in the movie? Good choice!

One guy in the Japanese Prison Camp who kept the place going by giving the other prisoners a reason to live, and the Japanese Officers something to eat (it wasn't chicken, and, it did have a tail).

Very Good Book, keep waiting for AMC or TBS to run the movie.

Wasn't King Rat played by "Hangfire" in the movie?

I've read all of James Clavell books up to Whirlwind which was my 2nd favorite, Shogun being the first, but they were all good up until he ran out of a timeline and tried to jump back into the Japanese history again after Whirlwind.
