Anyone buy one of these yet? Do they work? I have been thinking of trying it out.

car fan

They have them at walmart but I posted this link for a quick discription.

Unless it's powering your AC compressor, I don't see how it's really going to cool your car in any significant way.

My 2 cents;

Looks like junk to me.

I tried a similar one about 15 years ago, it didn't work. I doubt they got any better, you need a really powerful, rather large fan to make a noticeable difference.

Someone here posted about these in a similar topic recently.

His local news channel tried it out and it lowered the temp a whole 1/2 degree. I believe that's about all it could achieve. It's just ronco-style junk.

If your car is 74'F inside, then it must be 74'F outside or less.

I use a reflective sun shade and crack my windows.  Its not too unbearably hot when I first get back in.

Same same.  Just cracking your windows can make a big difference in your car's inside temperature after sitting in the hot sun all day.  It still surprises me being in Texas, that some people don't use a sun shade or crack their windows.

Window tinting with good film also helps.  I bet that little fan doesn't do much, it's having your window cracked a bit that does the helping.

It's crap. I used to own one. Probably the stupidest $12 I ever spent. If it's already cold out it might work to cool the cab. Save your money.
