Damn I had a couple of small patches on my arm and back for a year or two, no problem, steroid creams kept it check.
Tuesday I get up to go to a meeting with the top three men in the company, and my face feels like it on fire, and in a fire and right after a shower I have scales and flakes all over my face. Where it was not flaking I had red splotches, hell even my beard had dandruff.
I was lucky as I was able to tell the big wigs this is one of the reasons I HAD to take off a few days the week before (to see a Doc.).
What gets me is the pain, This is the first time it has hurt. I know psoriasis is related to rheumatoid arthritis, but damn it hurts and I look like the scale monster.

Is it this bad?

Seriously, that sounds rough to deal with.  I hope it gets better.

IIRC, stress can really set it off.

My soon-to-be (Friday morning) ex-wife has this condition. It's been around for at least 6 months and it's kind of nasty. She has it on her hands (as well as scalp and other areas) and she has to rub vasoline on her hands and wear rubber gloves when she sleeps. It's not fun at all, and supposedly there's no cure. But you can do things to help it a little and it may go into remission. Getting enough sun can help a lot. A friend's mom bought a tanning bed to help with hers.

Yeah that bad, went back to my Doc. today. She is a HS friend, the first words out of her mouth were "OH MY GOD".
Not the kind of thing you want to hear for your Doc. .
More steroids, I got enough That Barry Bonds would be jealous.

At least you don't have herpes.

My 57-year-old brother had an horrific case of psoriasis.  He takes one shot of Embrel of week.  It cleared him up very quicky and has kept it in check for quite some time.  He gives himself his own injections.

I get really dry skin in the winter.

I use a humidifier in my office and home. It seems to help.

The same spots "breakout" year after year. It is weird that it is the same places.

I also bought a tanning bed to help, which it does. I just hate laying in a tanning bed. It is just about the most boring thing I can think of.

I never have a problem in the summer.

This shit works.
Tell your Doc to write you a scrip. Be advised, it's not cheap if you're not insured.

I have used the cream version of this without results. but I will investigate the foam.
Since my Doc. is a long time friend, we talked today about treatment options for a long time.
The biggest problem was the pain, I have had sever injuries to my back in the past, this condition is related to debilitating arthritis, I wish to stop/control before it gets that far.

I have a patch of it near my right eye on my face.  Really bad in the winter months, I rub lots of lotion on it with limited results.  I just recently decided it was psoriasis.

It says I can't use that Olux on my face... too bad.

Try:

1. TGEL
2. TSAL
3. Zinc Shampoo
4. Denorex with Coal TAR.

I've tried all of them, and My condition went away in about 2 weeks. (I HAD IT BAD!) Especially on my face and hands.

I know if you run to the store and pick up some Denorex you'll be free of it in a few weeks.

Flax Seed Oil.  It will cure it.

I've got a moderate case of it myself.  Fortunately not on my face anymore.  On the advice of my dermatologist I started using a vapor barrier along with the clobetasol dipropionate ointment.  Basically I apply the ointment, and then cover the patch with a piece of plastic from a sandwich bag, and secure it with athletic tape.  The plastic dramatically increases the penetration and effectiveness of the steroid.  Apply before bed, remove in the morning.  Works pretty well.

+1 on the Denorex with Coal  Tar. I had to go back to it, but it works. That and a little sunlight -- but no sunlight after using the tar shampoo. I've been trying alternate days, and it seems to be working. I've had it on my face for quite a while. But it's been really bad the past few years, but I have been under terrible stress.

Denorex and sunlight -- its starting to fade.

+1

Spread that stuff like butter on your toast or take capsules every day. Make it a regular part of your diet. Udo's Choice is a good brand. Keep it in the freezer.
