If i was living in the states and wanted to IMPORT a box full of Browning HP magazines, what kind of paperwork would that involve? Form 6 or is it form 6 just for firearms?

Anyone know, a quick answer would really rock!
Thanks.
HUNTER.

ETA: these would be 13 rnd mags.

Thank you brother, but how would posting a Import question work on the M16 forums?
Not only that, it is not M16 related but Browning HP.
I guess there isn't really a place to post this, so that's why i tried GD, where everything goes

Many of the guys on the M16 forum are familiar with legal questions like the one
you posed. I've found it to be great resource for many of my arms related legal questions. Good luck.

To do all the work yourself and be legal you would need to be a licensed importer with the ATF and the magazines would require a Form 6.  They would have to be shippped to a port and inspected by customs before you could get them.

Or you could just have them mailed to your house and see what happens.  How big of a box are you talking about?

I heard somewhere that if the value is over $100 then you need to go through ATF regs, but if less then your OK. Thats how guys buy single Bakelite AK mags from Russia/Germany.

I doubt it will be cost or time effective for you to do it yourself.  When I was setup to do this I filled out an "Application to Register as an importer of U.S. Munitions Import List Articles", specifically for "importation of firearm parts and accessories".   A one year license will cost you $250.  It takes a couple months to get that.  Then you have to get and fill out the form 6 properly according to the agent who is processing the form and get it approved.  That can take anywhere from 3 to 6 months...each time.  If they reject it you basically start over and resubmit a new form 6.  Then it has to be shipped here, inspected by customs, meet all their criteria or they hold it, if they put a hold on it, then you pay even more storage cost at the warehouse.  One major thing is each item has to be tagged with a label from the country it was created in before customs will release it.  That can just be a sticker on the item but it has to be there.  To do it the legal way is a pain in the ass.
