Are there any special laws about importing antiquities from Europe?, I've found somethings that I want but there all in Europe, mostly the UK, and Germany....

Also how about just ordering things from out of the country in general (not antiquities just general stuff....) what is the proccess?, just place the order than watch my mailbox/porch for the item to show up like usual, or is there more to it?....

How about inert ordnance, and other dug up relics that occasionaly show up on auction sites is there any special laws pertaining to them?....

Whenever you get stuff shipped from overseas, there's a chance that it can get held up in customs, and two things can happen.
(1) they get confused if they don't know what it is (happend to me when I shipped a didgeridoo from Australia), which can delay it a lot.
(2) they can charge you import duties.  It can sometimes be hard to get a clear answer on what exactly you have to pay duties on, and there may be an exemption for antiques or something.  I had to pay import duties on a coat that I bought in England and had shipped here.  It's worth calling them and asking about specifics ahead of time (so you don't get an unpleasant and expensive surprise) but I get the impression that sometimes they just make up the rules as they go along.

Where are you located?

There are some antique dealers around the Hou. area that import things from Europe all the time.  It might be a good idea to talk to a Fine antique broker / re-seller.

Are you buying German Anus laptops? Watch out for the declared value of the goods, those duties will be a killer, but all you end up with is a washing machine.
