Anyone know if the price listed on this page is correct? www.metalprices.com/ $3.35 a pound for scrap? |
Correct for them, anyway. Many places where you or I can turn copper and aluminum in (without going directly to a scrapyard) give less than that. I turned in some copper a couple weeks back. About 150 pounds of #1, for $2.85 a pound, 100 pounds of #2 for $2.35 a pound, and about 200 pounds of aluminum for like 70 cents a pound or so. Of course, if its burnt off and clean, you'll get the higher price. If its not burnt off, where I go gives about $1/pound less, and if its somewhat burnt but still "dirty" with bits of insulation still on it, they give .50/pound less. |
