so I just notice that one of the funds that I had in my 401k is not there anymore and was replaced by a different one. of course, I find this out on a friday and after hours so I can't ask anyone at work or at fidelity. can my employer change my funds when ever they want? when this 'exchange' was done, it cost me about $1500 dollars... do I'm not too pleased to be seeing that. |
| If they remove a fund from the pool of funds available to purchase, sometimes they will also cash out those finds into an alternate new investment. They likely informed you of their intent to remove that fund as on option in some of the mailings you have received. Although it probably looked like junk mail when you received it. It may also have been the actual fund you were invested in closed and your 401k manager was forced to move the finds. |
you shouldn't type with your mouth full!
