Found this in their GD (I think it's interesting): Hi Ericman and welcome to this forum. First of all let me give a little correction to your french statement. It should read: salut, parlez-vous anglais (hi, do you speak english). That being said we appreciate your willingness to speak a few words of our excellent but rather difficult language for a foreigner. Regarding the gun laws in France it's pretty simple, nobody is allowed to purchase or detain guns of any kind except for antique ones using black powder or metal cartridges that are impossible to find. Fortunately there's an exception for people who are members of a shooting club or hunters. Shooters are allowed to purchase an unlimited amount of rimfire rifles provided their magazines can't hold over 10 rounds of ammo. All handguns, including one shot rimfire pistols which were free to detain prior to 1993, are subjected to authorization by the authorities. Center fire rifles classification is more complicated. Rifles that are chambered for so called military ammo are restricted and need proper authorizations. Military ammo includes the following calibers currently in use by the armed forces of various countries : .223, 308, 7.62X39, 7.62X54R, 7.5mm MAS, .50 BMG and also obsolete calibers such as the .303, 8mm Lebel or 8mm Mauser (7.92X57). The same classification applies to semi auto rifles in "civilian calibers" that have a military look, as if look can kill. Among those rifles are the AR-15, AK-47, US M1 carbine, M1 Garand etc... "Civilian calibers" refer to ammo other that "military ammo". Rifles that are chambered for these ammo have to be declared to the authorities after purchase if they fulfill the following requirements: - total lengh over 80 cm. - barrel length over 60 cm. - semi auto with 3 or less ammo capacity. - repeating action with 10 or less ammo capacity. Each shooter who belongs to a shooting club can acquire 12 restricted firearms (7 center fires and 5 rimfires). An authorization request for each restricted firearm must be asked and delivered by the authorities prior to the purchase. The authorization is valid for a period of 3 years and has to be renewed by the holder. This is about it. I don't know about gun laws in other european countries but I'm sure other guys in this forum will be glad to help you out. |

Did you see the vid they had posted of so of the Arizona guys taking down a rc plane with gunfire? ![]() |
| It's nice to see sites like that. It reminds us that not EVERYBODY in France is a white flag waving, take it in the ass pussy. Imagine how their view of us would be if they only read DU. I'll bet it's similar to the way things are in the US - people out in the country probably love their guns, and people in the big cities hate them. |
You should have seen it in person--that airplane handled like a pig! GT One of the pilots that flys for that shoot....
