Should i buy a Kimber Desert Warrior now, or should i wait for the anticipated Taurus 1911 in Stainless that's coming later this year ? Of course the Taurus will save me some bucks, but having a 1911 in the hand is hard to pass up. I know the Kimber model is popular and is there any wait time on delivery  ?

I think that's part of the problem. The gun I could probably conceal while carrying, the woody I'd have while carrying it, that's a whole nuther problem to contend with.

SMLockeIII is a member here, I'm sure he'll see this and post up...Sam bought a Desert Warrior in February and is very happy, I mean VERY happy with it.  I have shot it and fondled it and I have to say it is the finest example of gun porn wet dreammaker I have ever seen and touched.

Nuff said for now.

Wasn't the Desert Warrior the one the Marines had so much trouble with?

The Kimber is very nice and a great shooter. I also enjoy shooting the Ultra Carry. Both have their place. Both shoot very well. The DW is heavy of course (vs the UC) but steady and easy to shoot. I am also fortunate to have a M6X for it. Just bought 3 extra Wilson magazines for the Warrior.
The carry holster is a Blade-Tech when I feel like carrying it. Awesome. I believe that any of the full size 1911s that are reliable would be worth the expense and effort to get. My next one will be a 4" barrel, cuz I DON'T have one.

Blessings to all,
Sam

Buy the Kimber.  A Taurus will always be... well, a Taurus.
