Actually, Itunes question. Can I burn music in my Itunes, onto a CD?

Actually, if the songs were bought through Itunes they are protected & can't be burned to a CD (at least, I haven't managed to make it work) If it's music that you ripped from a CD then it's cool but the AAC(?) files won't let you.

If I'm wrong on this let me know, cause this has been driving me nuts (till I bought an Ipod, that is)

Yep. I'm trying to ripp the songs I purchase through Itunes, not working for me either. I thought maybe I didn't have the right burning software.

Are you sure? I've never bought anything from the store, but everything I've read suggests that purchased tracks can be burned to CD. *shrug*

It should work.

Is the disc not working, or are you getting an error message?

No error messages.  It seems to copy, then says complete, but when I try to play music from the CD, nothing plays. I tried a Sony CD and Panasonic CD.

Hmmm.... You sure you're burning the right format (CD, and not MP3 disc, etc.)?

I've always heard it should work....

ETA: Wait! Wait!

Are you burning onto CD-RW by any chance? Many CD players will NOT play re-recordable CD's. I found this out the hard way myself.

Not to hijack the thread, but I have a question of my own since I'm thinking of buying an Ipod this weekend.

Can I rip my cd's and then transfer to my Ipod or am I stuck with buying music through Itunes only? What about all the music I have downloaded through Limewire is that usable?

You can transfer all of your CD's. If your Limewire files are MP3's, you can do those, too.

I know from experience.
