I am playing with the newest version of Pinnacle Studio.
It is software for editing digital video.

In the past, all of my slow motion clips had no audio.

Not anymore.

This one is slowed down to 25% of it's original speed.

(video of my dad shooting my AR-50)

Thought it was too cool to not share.

EDIT:  These video clips are all quite small, and suitable for dialup downloading.
I think they are all 500K or smaller.

Nice.  It looks like the scope nearly knocked his hat off.

That is nice, I wish I had some decent video editing software.  I did something similar with the lowly (and free) windows movie maker.  Here it is:

slow
regular speed

I only slowed them down by half though, or the audio really gets bad.

The most interesting thing in the video for me is the range, I was at that range today.

I was there shooting my 50 to day.

Did you get video of him cleaning out his draws after that scope hit his hat???

I know many people say the  big fifty doesn't kick it pushes....that's the best video of that I've ever seen.

Can't wait to shoot mine.

Still waiting on my scope to come in...

Now I'm afraid to shoot mine.  That scope looks like it hit your dad.  Did he not hold it tight enough or is that just part of the .50 prerequisite punishment?

It just hit his hat, that's all.

Seriously?

That was Princeton, Iowa.

I hate that place this time of year.  The bugs won't leave you alone for two seconds.

Yes,  was there today, was really surprised that there wasn't many people guess because of the holiday.

I have been using Deet in the 93% and it works pretty well.

I've seen up to 98% deet, but I'm scared of it.

Do you only apply it to your clothing?

How well does it repell those little black flies?

Firearms recoil.  You can't really get around that.
My wife and sister-in-law have both shot it.
So I am pretty safe in telling you that ANYONE who is literally afraid to shoot one is a pussy.

I can also tell you that anyone who has shot deer slugs in their 12ga and the AR-50 side by side
will tell you that the shotgun kicks a LOT harder.  I have a Savage bolt action 12ga that drew blood
from between my eyes until I switched to a longer eye relief scope.

With the noise and concussion it makes, I doubt my dad even noticed it hit his hat.
I forwarded the video to him, because I bet he will be surprised.

I'm contemplating firing the AR-50 while standing off to the side so it can have a chance to
move as much as it wants during recoil.  Obviously I'm afraid of damaging the gun/scope if it
falls off the bench.  And I'm concerned about it breaking my finger if it gets away from me.
If I do it, I'll obviously post a video.

Video of my brother shooting the Savage 210F bolt action 12ga.

Unfortunately, the camera was still running from when we were shooting
the AR-50, so it wasn't positioned for what my brother was doing.

Another clip of the AR-50

Another

This next one lost some quality when I had Studio zoom in and pan to center the rifle.

But it shows a different angle of the rifle being fired.

Other Side

The next one shows my sister-in-law shooting the AR-50

The area in front of the cars is the "pistol range".
It is 80 yards from the boulders in front of the cars to the berm.

The "rifle range" is 20 yards farther back.
