Ex-cop busted again

Police say former South Elgin, Genoa officer violated parole

A former South Elgin and Genoa cop, who later was a Community Unit District 300 bus driver, is in trouble with the law again.

Luis “Alex” Molina, 29, of 384 S. Liberty St., Elgin, was charged Wednesday with failure to comply with his electronic home monitoring program and possession of weapons by a felon.

Molina’s parole officer found a 50-round box of .45-caliber ammunition, a gun belt with a holster, pepper spray, two pairs of handcuffs, a handcuff key and two Glock 21 magazines in Molina’s home, police said.

Molina was convicted of aggravated criminal sexual abuse in August 2004 after he admitted he invited two teenage boys to his Elgin home a year earlier and engaged in sexual activity with them.

Molina was sentenced to four years in prison, but his sentence was reduced for good behavior.

After Molina resigned from the South Elgin Police Department in 2000, he filed a lawsuit against the department charging he was sexually harassed and subject to discriminatory conditions.

A month earlier, he was involved in a traffic accident in which police say he grabbed the steering wheel of a car driven by a 17-year-old, the car crossed the center line and seven people were injured.

Molina was charged with disorderly conduct in that incident.

Molina was unable to post a $5,000 bond Thursday and was taken to the Kane County jail to await a June 8 court date.

Hopefully he will do time in the gray bar hotel this time.

Wait, was he a school bus driver after being busted for having sex with teenage boys?

Where's the weapons he was charged as being in possession of?

So... Uh..

I see mention of accessories there, but it's missing the whole "and a Glock 21 semi-automatic pistol" part.

Are they suggesting that simply having accessories for a gun you're not supposed to have is enough to send you to jail and bring charges? If so, I must be a felon with a hidden assault weapon because of that UZI magazine...

He cannot possess ANY weapons/LE related material.  Heck, just the gun belt or handcuff key would revoke him.  My guess is the reporter just forgot about the gun in his rush to list all the stuff

I don't know about other states, but in the state of Illinois it is illegal for anyone not possesing a (F)irearms (O)wner (ID)entification Card to own ammunition. And if your a convicted felon, well you guessed it, you can't obtain a FOID card.
