Jemison Police Chief Brian Stillwell said 43-year-old Bryan McClinton and 33-year-old Lucy McClinton were arrested yesterday. The criminal charges stem from Saturday morning's attack on Officer Jeff Manasco at a home on Highway 191. Stillwell said Manasco was forced to shoot and killed the two dogs to escape. He had gone to the home in response to an animal complaint. The officer was readmitted to a local hospital yesterday due to an infection on his right arm. He suffered multiple bites and a serious injury to the arm. Stillwell said the dogs were destroyed at local veterinary clinic. The couple posted bond and were released from the Chilton County Jail. |
