I was getting some work done at a local jeweler today and saw a Citizen Eco- Drive Calibre 8651 AP-1022-51A stainlees steel gold watch. I really liked the watch alot. The store was selling it at full msrp $450. I see it on Ebay going for $239. I have a bunch of watches, none of them as expensive as this one though.... Any thoughts on Citizen & Eco- Drive? Thought I ask the watch guru's here.... |

Damn, I thought that sounded familiar. I moved a sprinkler with my Accutron on and hadn't sent it in for repair. My wife got tired of me asknig what time it was and bought one for my birthday. No complaints. Keeps good time. Only slight problem is changing from DST or when a month has 30 days. It's a little tricky keeping it from morphing into Spanish, but no big deal. I doubt she paid full freight. I think it's worth the lower price you quoted. ETA On the back it has the model #E100-H25721 HSW. |

I have a Citizen Eco-Drive that I bought as a dive watch a few years ago. I particularly like it for a dive watch, since the casing never needs to be opened to replace a battery (plus the depth gauge feature makes it a great backup for my dive computer). I like it so much that I wear it as my everyday watch. I've never had a problem with it. |

I have this one: www.citizenwatch.com/COA/English/detail.asp?Country=COA&Language=English&ModelNumber=BJ7020-55E I like mine very much. |
Permanantly sealed, or do yo still have to replace the seals periodically? |
Great - now you ruined my sweet complacancy!! ![]() No - I'm sure there are still various seals in there, and the body is still a traditional two-piece construction - not one of those new fancy one-piece watches I've seen - so it's not like it's a totally and permanently sealed watch. So I probably overstated the advantage. I just like that fact the since it doesn't need to be opened for battery changes, it's one less thing that can go wrong (if some jeweler has a bad day, and misses something when he's closing it up). |
