Not the kind you guys are thinking. Why do female crabs cost less the male crabs? We are talking Maryland Blue crabs. |

| Females in general are smaller and in fact taste a bit different, they have a sweeter taste to them. Also there is a bit of a negative conotation to eating female crabs. Besides have you ever seen the ones that are carrying eggs, "sponge crabs" they look like shit IMO. |

Yep, they are just considered "worse" by the MD locals. They can have less internal meat than male crabs (but lots of male crabs can also be "empty" of meat inside). The ones full of eggs are gross. And I wish they would toss them back if they are ready to lay eggs. |
