I had a thought.

Hate my job. Idiot coworkers, get paid half what I should, brain dead get promotions while I don't, No future, nearly got fired for being a gun afficianado. Et cetera, et cetera.

I thought that we need a place on Arfcom where  members here could post job openings for jobs they need to fill. Or people looking for jobs could put up resumes. It would be great, we could get jobs/fill openings with people who are friendly to our hobby.

I know they have web sites  like Monster but Monster sucks. I cannot think of anybody who has received a job off of that site.

What say you Arfcom?

So in a shameless plug of myself I offer my resume.

OK, looks like this idea has gone over like a fart in a phone booth.

Back to the Wile E. Coyote ACME catalog for ideas....

Why not start your own firm? Sure, it will be long hours, much more work for several years, but the satisfaction in the long run shall out weigh the hardships you endure today.

Good to hear you like your job.

Literally everybody I know hates their job.  Not good at all.

I think it's a great idea.  Especially since I am currently "between jobs".  Does anybody need a Wisconsin state licensed electrician?

I would make a meaningful reply but I'm just a Retired Air Force Peon working at Books A Million 2 - 5 days a week.

I know I'm better then many. Proved it more then once as a Jet Engine Mechanic.

Now, I just have a job because having a job is what I know.

I don't worry too much about if my job compares well with others.

I love being laid back.

Wish I had a good workable idea for a company.  Would be nice to have a small independent testing laboratory  but that would cost more venture capital than I could get ahold of.

As you stated, a 'workable idea', that is exactly what you require. Once you have a 'business plan', providing it is one that meets financial goals over a predetermined timeline, there is no reason that the monies cannot be raised to back such a venture.

Sure, it is a major step, every entrepreneur was in the same boat as you are today, myself included. Fear is in your mind, whether it be fear of failure or fear of success. Either you make the plunge to work for yourself or you work for the man, the choice, it is yours to make.

My .02 which was free!

"Like" is a strong word. I like how much I am getting paid and I like that I don't want to claw my eyes out at the end of everyday.

I'd rather be golfing all day if I had my druthers.
