30 Mbps down, 2 Mbps up... but it is only available in 16 states (MI isn't one of them though). Does anyone know if SBC is offering a similar service? It costs as much as cable internet but is about 5 times faster than my current service. |
| You probably won't get much better than cable except for a few sites and something like bittorrent, because the lowest speed is the speed of the exchange. Hence, if you have a download of 30Mbps, and are downloading it from somebody with an upload of 10Kbps, your download speed for that particular thing is 10Kbps. |

I think you'll get 30 Mbps down on everything except stuff like bittorrent or multiplayer gaming due to the weakest chain/slowest person online. However the lag times should be really low... I think whatever modem you use for FiOS (or at least a translator/transmitter) will definitely need at least a 100 Mbps connection to your LAN for full bandwidth usage, the 10 Mbps connection on Cable/DSl won't cut it. |
I got it and it phuqueing ROCKS!!! ![]() ![]()

You're right. I was looking at the 30 Mbps speeds at the 15 Mbps price

All we have is Cox cable, ugh...
