Why do I sit out in the shop cleaning cosmoline off of guns in the stove, smoking cigars, and playing with the lathe until 3:30 am. I just now came in out of the shop and I'm looking at the clock asking myself why I was out there that long.

You find it relaxing? No one disturbs you while you're out there? You were probably listening to "your" music? You like tinkering, while enjoying a fine cigar and a cold adult beverage? Your marriage is/was on the slippery slope and you are trying to avoid an argument? You're hoping the wife goes to bed before you? For me it was all the above.

smokycity You got everything right until you started talking about marriage and her going to bed before me. I'm not married and the GF was out there with me until about 12:30 am. I did accomplish something more than relaxation though. I also built the little stove just for cooking cosmoline off of suplus rifles. I had a couple of decent Turkish Mausers in there for a few hours last night. It worked quite well. |
