Their stuff any good?  Uppers seem priced well...

you can do better for not a whole lot more money.  their quality can be spotty, but many people have had good experiences with their stuff.

My Model 1 Sales .223 upper has performed great since the day the AWB ended!

My upper from them works good, I just had to steak the gas key.  Had a couple of issues with the lower parts kit though which I hear is almost normal with them.

1.  Take down detents were to big, and I didn't like that they were only chamfered on one end.

2.  Hole on the bolt catch/release lever was too small.

I'm pretty sure it cost me well under $5.00 to replace those parts though.

If I had the chance to do it again, I think I would have gone with J&T.

My thoughts as well. A little on the "big lots" side for my taste.

The attitude of some of the table tenders at the local gunshow have helped me decide to never shop there again.

I've not talked to them at any funshows, but I did just finish building a lightweight carbine with a Model 1 kit and a Stag lower.  Went together well, no parts missing in the LPK, and it eats all the Wolf I want to put through it.  Groups Wolf 62gr. FMJ in about 3 MOA with irons, so it could prabably shoot 1.5 MOA with good ammo and a scope.  I'm quite pleased with it for a $600 rifle.

Me too.

My impression is that their repuation for sub-par quality is from:
(1) older versions of there stuff that wasn't as good as it is today
(2) their lower parts kits, that apparently still are a little rough

I've bought two uppers from them, and have had no problems whatsoever.

One is a 10.25" SBR upper
The other is a SS 16" bull barrel 1/8 twist upper

I'd not hesitate to buy from them again.

I wouldnt use their LPK or the bolt. After seeing pics of the low mileage Model1 broken bolt on here, why risk it? Quality b/c arent much more than a Model1 bolt. Plus Ive head reports of poor triggers, not that they break but just feel too gritty. I guess if I were looking for a cheap upper I would consider one of their barreled uppers, but would but b/c/ch from someone else.

I have had good luck with Model 1 kits. Put a light weight 16 inch barreled kit on a Oly. lower. It will shoot one half inch groups at 50 yards with a 6 power scope on it. The rifle runs like a champ.

I don't think that's correct.

If I am wrong, I absolutely want to know - but I'd hate for Model 1 to get smeared for something that they had nothing to do with.

Does anybody have that big flowchart somebody made up? Model 1/M&A/etc are the same company I believe.  This particular chart went all the way out to "Fried Chicken Lady" and "Overly complicated credit card machine" or something like that, with Darth Vader in the background.

I won't mention any names,

but I will tell you my experiences with them were less than good.

Go ADCO, just my $.02.

Two uppers in a row from them with mistimed FSB's sent back to them for repair came back same as when they left. Done with model 1.

Over the years Ive bought 5-6 uppers with a couple of those being whole kits from them. Ive bought misc parts and armorer tools also. Only problem Ive had was my A2 20" 6.8 was having FTE, FTF malfs and I emailed them then sent it back and when I got it back it has ran fine since. They even sent the fired brass they tested it with.  The 6.8 is now a flattop by my hand and freefloated with a Samson clamp on.

I bought a rifle kit from them. It works fine except for the bolt. It broke and I replaced it with another one from them, which broke in the same place (both with less than 1,000 rounds throught them.)

Took my Model 1 C.A.R. 16" build out this weekend....worked great!  And Accurate too.

Customer Service also gets an A+ from me....was inadvertently sent the wrong buttstock--they replaced it , paid shipping, and sent me a free wrench to put it on with. All the while being polite and courteous through the whole thing.

Good guys, good stuff....I'll buy from them again.

I bought an upper from them. Complete pos. It was purple, the charging handle looked and worked like factory seconds. It was a jamomatic on my Colt lower. Overall just a complete pos.

I also had hell getting my $600 back and didn't get my shipping back at all. Took me a month to get my money back.

I would go with J&T myself.Just a few more dollars over Model 1,and the quality is higher IMHO.

Similar experience here... 7 1/2" upper, FSB was obviously cocked, gas port too small, wouldn't run. Bad/rude customer service, tried to blame it on how hubby cleaned his guns. Um, yeah, ok. Also gave him crap about Wolf ammo, even though it failed consistently, in the same manner, with XM193, Winchester white box, and Wolf.

Got it back, and it runs better, but still hiccups now and again. Gave up, didn't want to go through the trama of sending it back. I know the shorty uppers are tough to get running, but they didn't have to be so rude about the problem.

On the other hand, we've had much better experiences with J&T. Very polite, great customer service. Had a rough chamber on my 14.5" upper, and they took care of it no prob. Runs like a champ ever since. Look forward to buying more stuff from them.

I built one of their kits on my stripped blemished Eagle Arms lower. Trigger was gritty as hell. A freind that is a High Power shooter put in a better trigger.

You get what you pay for. No complaints for what I paid.

I've owned my A3, 16", M4 profile bbl upper for a year with no problems. I recieved it rather quockley too as I recall. Bottom line is that I have no problems with this company.

.....and yes, it was an M&A employee that ran amuck of Lord Vader.
