A few weeks ago I was having trouble windows and di a reinstall, but the only disk available was a win XP pro SP2 and I just had XP pro before.... well now it wont take the activation code on the bottom of my computer and  I have 3 days left before my computer goes dead. Can I uninstall this version and go back to regular SP or am I screwed?

It sounds to me like you're not doing an "installation" but rather just borrowed the "restore" CD from another system.  So the codes on the bottom of your PC won't work.

I suggest using your original CDs to restore the volume of WinXP that came with your system, and then before installing any software update the OS yourself with SP2.  I've done this on several older systems and it works fine.   (You usually run into problems loading Service Packs and having already-installed apps puke, so load the SPs first and then the apps.)

Microsoft will happily mail you a Service Pack 2 CD for free just for the asking.  Click here for all the details.
